CVE-2026-85682, 24 Sep 2026
The YOP Poll plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Origin Validation Error in all versions up to, and including, 7.0.10. This is due to the plugin transmitting a wp_rest nonce to window.opener via postMessage() with a wildcard targetOrigin. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to steal a REST nonce scoped to a logged-in Administrator and use it to change the Administrator's email address and password, resulting in full account takeover. The Administrator must open an attacker-controlled page in order to exploit this vulnerability. CVE record
CVE-2026-14840, 1 Aug 2026
The YOP Poll WordPress plugin before 7.0.6 does not validate the connection's origin IP address and instead trusts client-controlled forwarding headers when enforcing its per-IP vote restriction, allowing unauthenticated attackers to bypass the vote limit and cast unlimited votes on a public poll. CVE record
CVE-2023-6109, 14 Nov 2023
The YOP Poll plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to a race condition in all versions up to, and including, 6.5.26. This is due to improper restrictions on the add() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to place multiple votes on a single poll even when the poll is set to one vote per person. CVE record
CVE-2022-1600, 1 Aug 2022
The YOP Poll WordPress plugin before 6.4.3 prioritizes getting a visitor's IP from certain HTTP headers over PHP's REMOTE_ADDR, which makes it possible to bypass IP-based limitations to vote in certain situations. CVE record
CVE-2022-0205, 7 Mar 2022
The YOP Poll WordPress plugin before 6.3.5 does not sanitise and escape some of the settings (available to users with a role as low as author) before outputting them, leading to a Stored Cross-Site Scripting issue CVE record
CVE-2021-24833, 17 Nov 2021
The YOP Poll WordPress plugin before 6.3.1 is affected by a stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability, which exists in the Admin preview module where a user with a role as low as author is allowed to execute arbitrary script code within the context of the application. This vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of question and answer text parameters in Create Poll module. CVE record
CVE-2021-24834, 17 Nov 2021
The YOP Poll WordPress plugin before 6.3.1 is affected by a stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability which exists in the Create Poll - Options module where a user with a role as low as author is allowed to execute arbitrary script code within the context of the application. This vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of custom label parameters - vote button label , results link label and back to vote caption label. CVE record
CVE-2021-24885, 25 Oct 2021
The YOP Poll WordPress plugin before 6.1.2 does not escape the perpage parameter before outputting it back in an attribute, leading to a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting CVE record
CVE-2021-24454, 12 Jul 2021
In the YOP Poll WordPress plugin before 6.2.8, when a pool is created with the options "Allow other answers", "Display other answers in the result list" and "Show results", it can lead to Stored Cross-Site Scripting issues as the 'Other' answer is not sanitised before being output in the page. The execution of the XSS payload depends on the 'Show results' option selected, which could be before or after sending the vote for example. CVE record
CVE-2019-9914, 22 Mar 2019
The yop-poll plugin before 6.0.3 for WordPress has wp-admin/admin.php?page=yop-polls&action=view-votes poll_id XSS. CVE record

What to do if you run YOP Poll

If you run YOP Poll, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.

If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
