Website monitoring that knows before your customers do
Our website monitoring services check your site every minute, around the clock, and put a UK engineer on every alert. Downtime, expiring SSL certificates, lapsing domains, blacklists and malware: spotted, investigated and dealt with, usually before anyone else notices.
Why nobody finds out from a customer
Five ways websites go dark, all covered
Most outages are not dramatic server failures. They are quiet administrative lapses and slow-burn problems that monitoring catches days or weeks before they bite.
Uptime, every minute
Checks from outside your network confirm your pages load correctly around the clock, with a second location verifying before any alert fires.
SSL certificate expiry
An expired certificate greets visitors with a browser security warning. We alert well before renewal deadlines, so it never happens.
Domain expiry
Lapsed domains take down the website and email in one stroke, and can be painful to recover. We track renewal dates independently of your registrar's emails.
Malware and blacklists
Daily checks against malware scanners and spam blacklists. If Google or the blocklists flag your site, we know first and our security team acts.
Content, not just pings
A server can answer while the site shows a database error. We verify real content is rendering, because your customers do not care that the server technically responded.
Monthly report
Uptime percentage, incidents, causes and fixes, in plain English. Evidence your site is being watched, not a dashboard you must remember to check.
Monitoring without action is just bad news, faster
Alerts go to engineers, not just to your phone
A human investigates every alert
Any cheap tool can text you "SITE DOWN" at 3am. Then what? You are awake, worried, and no closer to a fix. On our service the alert goes to an engineer who diagnoses the cause and gets on with resolving it, or escalating to your host with evidence. If it needs an emergency fix, we are already the people doing it. You hear about incidents in the report, usually with "resolved" next to them.
- Every incident investigated, not just forwarded
- Root cause explained in plain English
- Escalation to your host handled for you, with diagnostics
Checked from outside, where your customers are
Independent of your host, on purpose
Your hosting company grading its own homework is not monitoring. Host status pages routinely show green while individual sites are broken, and a host guarantee says nothing about your SSL certificate, domain renewal, a hacked page or a plugin that white-screened the site overnight. We check from outside, seeing what your customers see. Pair it with our hosting support plan and the team that spots problems also has the access to fix them.
- External checks see what visitors see, not what the server claims
- Covers failures your host will never alert you to
- Works with any hosting company, anywhere

Frequently asked questions
What is website uptime monitoring?
An automated service that checks your website is loading correctly at short intervals, from outside your own network, around the clock. When a check fails, alerts go out immediately so the problem is being worked on before most visitors notice. Good monitoring also watches what takes sites down indirectly: SSL certificates, domain renewals, blacklists and malware.
How does website monitoring work?
Monitoring servers request your pages every minute and verify the response: right status code, right content, acceptable load time. A failed check triggers a second confirmation from another location to rule out a blip, then an alert fires. On our service that alert reaches a UK engineer who investigates the cause, rather than forwarding you the bad news.
What should website monitoring services include?
More than a ping. A proper service checks uptime at 1-minute intervals, watches SSL certificate and domain expiry dates, monitors malware and spam blacklists, confirms the site content is actually rendering rather than showing an error page, and reports monthly. Ours includes all of that plus a human investigating every incident, for £29 a month excluding VAT.
Is free uptime monitoring good enough for a business website?
Free tools tell you the site is down, usually at 5-minute intervals, and then their job is done. Nobody diagnoses the fault, nobody restarts the stuck service, nobody notices the SSL certificate expiring next Tuesday. If your website earns money, the gap between "alert sent" and "problem fixed" is the bit that costs you, and that gap is exactly what we sell.
What happens when my website goes down at 3am?
Our monitoring confirms the outage within minutes and alerts us immediately. We investigate the cause: server fault, expired certificate, hosting outage, crashed update or attack, and either fix it or escalate to your host with the diagnostic evidence they need. Most incidents are resolved before the working day starts, then explained in plain English.
How much does website monitoring cost in the UK?
Bare alert-only tools run from free to around £20 a month. Our Uptime & Security Monitoring is £29 a month excluding VAT and includes 1-minute checks, SSL and domain expiry watch, malware and blacklist monitoring, instant alerts, a monthly report and, the part the tools cannot offer, an engineer who investigates every incident.
My host promises 99.9% uptime, do I still need monitoring?
99.9% still allows almost nine hours of downtime a year, and host guarantees only cover their servers. They do not notice your expired SSL certificate, a plugin update that white-screens the site, a hack, or your domain lapsing: to the host, a perfectly served error page counts as up. Independent monitoring checks what your customers actually see.
