Website maintenance that actually happens
Updates applied, backups tested, problems fixed before you hear about them, and a monthly report that proves it. UK engineers keep your website healthy for a fixed monthly price.
Everything a healthy website needs, every month
Website maintenance is not one job, it is a dozen small disciplines done consistently. Miss them for six months and small problems become expensive ones.
Updates without breakage
Core, plugin and theme updates applied weekly, with visual checks afterwards so an update never silently breaks your checkout or contact form.
Backups you can restore
Daily backups stored off your server and test-restored regularly. A backup that has never been restored is just a hope.
Security and malware scanning
Hardening, firewall rules and daily malware scans. Most small business hacks exploit updates that were never applied.
24/7 uptime monitoring
One-minute checks around the clock. If your site goes down we usually know, and act, before your first customer notices.
Fixes and small changes
Broken layouts, misbehaving forms, content tweaks: handled as part of the plan. Professional and Premium plans include monthly development time.
Reports that prove the work
A monthly plain-English report: what was updated, what was fixed, uptime, speed scores and what we recommend next.
What six months of neglect really looks like
Small weekly attention beats big yearly rescues
Websites do not stay fixed, they drift
Every week your site is live, the world moves: plugin developers patch security holes, PHP versions reach end of life, Google updates Chrome and its ranking rules, spam bots find new targets. A site nobody maintains does not stay the same, it quietly falls behind until something visible breaks, usually at the worst moment.
- Outdated plugins cause the majority of WordPress hacks
- PHP 8.1 reached end of life in December 2025: unpatched servers are now exposed
- Browsers and Google change monthly; yesterday's perfect site develops faults on its own
Prevention is the cheapest fix we sell
The rescue jobs cost more than the plans
We are often called after the damage: a hacked site that needs a £249 rescue, a botched update with no backup, rankings lost to a slow decline nobody measured. Every one of those calls would have been cheaper as a maintenance plan. Maintenance is not an expense next to those bills, it is insurance that also makes your site better every month.
- Hacked site cleanup costs more than a year of Essential Care
- Lost rankings can take months to recover, if they recover
- With maintenance, incidents become non-events

Frequently asked questions
How much do website maintenance services cost in the UK?
Typical UK website maintenance costs run from around £50 a month for essential updates and backups to £300 or more for sites needing development time and fast response. Our plans are £59, £119 and £249 a month excluding VAT, with everything included listed openly on our pricing page.
What is included in website maintenance?
Software updates, security patches, daily backups, uptime monitoring, malware scanning, bug fixes and small content changes, plus a monthly report showing what was done. Higher plans add development time, speed monitoring and accessibility checks.
What happens if my website breaks between maintenance visits?
Nothing waits for a scheduled visit. Monitoring alerts us the moment something goes wrong, usually before you notice, and fixing problems is part of the plan, not an extra invoice.
Do I need maintenance if my site rarely changes?
Yes, and static-feeling sites are often the most at risk. The software underneath, WordPress core, plugins, PHP, still ages every week, and unpatched sites are how most small business hacks happen. Maintenance is about the machinery, not just the content.
Can you maintain a website another company built?
Yes, most of the sites we maintain were built by someone else. We start with a takeover audit, document everything and secure the accounts in your name. No hard feelings needed with your old developer either; we handle the handover.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. Plans are monthly rolling and you can cancel any time. We keep clients by being useful, not by locking the door.
