- CVE-2026-93896, 3 Oct 2026
- The WPFront Notification Bar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting in versions up to, and including, 3.5.1. This is due to the debug-log output path (write_debug_logs) reflecting the raw value of $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] through vprintf() directly inside a <script> block emitted on wp_footer, without any sanitization or escaping (see the 'Current URL is "%s"' log entry produced by the URL-text display filter in the filter() method). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a specially crafted link. CVE record
- CVE-2024-0625, 25 Jan 2024
- The WPFront Notification Bar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the ‘wpfront-notification-bar-options[custom_class]’ parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.3.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level access, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. CVE record
- CVE-2021-24601, 6 Sep 2021
- The WPFront Notification Bar WordPress plugin before 2.1.0.08087 does not properly sanitise and escape its settings, which could allow high privilege users to perform Cross-Site Scripting attacks even when the unfiltered_html capability is disallowed. CVE record
- CVE-2021-24518, 16 Aug 2021
- The WPFront Notification Bar WordPress plugin before 2.0.0.07176 does not sanitise or escape its Custom CSS setting, allowing high privilege users such as admin to set XSS payload in it even when the unfiltered_html capability is disallowed, leading to an authenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting issue CVE record
What to do if you run WPFront Notification Bar
If you run WPFront Notification Bar, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.
If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
