- CVE-2026-18933, 5 Aug 2026
- The wp-downloadmanager WordPress plugin, in version 1.68.11 (also affecting the 6.9.4 release line), allows an admin-privileged user (current_user_can('manage_downloads')) to upload arbitrary files via download-add.php with no extension or MIME-type validation of any kind - no wp_check_filetype_and_ext, no validate_file, and no extension blocklist exist anywhere in the upload handler. CVE record
- CVE-2026-2426, 18 Feb 2026
- The WP-DownloadManager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Path Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.69 via the 'file' parameter in the file deletion functionality. This is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied file paths, allowing directory traversal sequences. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Administrator-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can lead to remote code execution when critical files like wp-config.php are deleted. CVE record
- CVE-2026-2419, 18 Feb 2026
- The WP-DownloadManager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Path Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.69 via the 'download_path' configuration parameter. This is due to insufficient validation of the download path setting, which allows directory traversal sequences to bypass the WP_CONTENT_DIR prefix check. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Administrator-level access and above, to configure the plugin to list and access arbitrary files on the server by exploiting the file browser functionality. CVE record
- CVE-2025-10747, 26 Sep 2025
- The WP-DownloadManager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file type validation in the download-add.php file in all versions up to, and including, 1.68.11. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Administrator-level access and above, to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible. CVE record
- CVE-2025-4799, 11 Jun 2025
- The WP-DownloadManager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to lack of restriction on the directory a file can be deleted from in all versions up to, and including, 1.68.10. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Administrator-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). This vulnerability can be paired with CVE-2025-4798 to delete any file within the WordPress root directory. CVE record
- CVE-2025-4798, 11 Jun 2025
- The WP-DownloadManager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file read in all versions up to, and including, 1.68.10. This is due to a lack of restriction on the directory an administrator can select for storing downloads. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Administrator-level access and above, to download and read any file on the server, including system and configuration files. CVE record
- CVE-2022-25606, 25 Mar 2022
- Multiple Authenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities discovered in WP-DownloadManager WordPress plugin (versions <= 1.68.6). Vulnerable parameters &download_path, &download_path_url, &download_page_url, &download_categories. CVE record
- CVE-2022-25605, 18 Mar 2022
- Multiple Authenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities discovered in WP-DownloadManager WordPress plugin (versions <= 1.68.6). Vvulnerable parameters &download_path, &download_path_url, &download_page_url. CVE record
- CVE-2020-24141, 7 Jul 2021
- Server-side request forgery in the WP-DownloadManager plugin 1.68.4 for WordPress lets an attacker send crafted requests from the back-end server of a vulnerable web application via the file_remote parameter to download-add.php. It can help identify open ports, local network hosts and execute command on services CVE record
- CVE-2013-2697, 19 Apr 2013
- Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in the WP-DownloadManager plugin before 1.61 for WordPress allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of arbitrary users for requests that insert XSS sequences. CVE record
What to do if you run WP-DownloadManager
If you run WP-DownloadManager, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.
If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
