CVE-2026-92400, 21 Sep 2026
The Payment Gateway for PayPal on WooCommerce WordPress plugin before 9.2.1 does not verify that an incoming payment notification was confirmed in the store's configured payment environment or paid to the store's own merchant account before marking an order complete, allowing unauthenticated users to mark their own orders as paid using a genuine transaction from a payment sandbox they control. CVE-2026-16621, 12 Aug 2026
The Payment Gateway for PayPal on WooCommerce WordPress plugin before 9.2.1 does not verify that payment actually succeeded before completing an order in its PayPal return handler: it reads attacker-controlled parameters, performs no amount comparison and no order-ownership check, and completes the order even when the server-side gateway verification fails, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to mark arbitrary orders as paid without paying. What to do if you run Payment Gateway for PayPal on WooCommerce

If you run Payment Gateway for PayPal on WooCommerce, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.

If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
