CVE-2026-3688, 8 Jul 2026
The WCFM Membership - WooCommerce Memberships for Multivendor Marketplace plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference in all versions up to, and including, 2.11.10. This is due to the 'wcfmvm_membership_change' AJAX action not validating user permission to modify other users. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with vendor level access and above, to change any user's role to 'wcfm_vendor' by changing their membership plan. CVE record

CVE-2023-2276, 20 May 2023
The WCFM Membership - WooCommerce Memberships for Multivendor Marketplace plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object References in versions up to, and including, 2.10.7. This is due to the plugin providing user-controlled access to objects, letting a user bypass authorization and access system resources. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to change user passwords and potentially take over administrator accounts. CVE record
CVE-2022-4939, 5 Apr 2023
THe WCFM Membership plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in versions up to, and including 2.10.0, due to a missing capability check on the wp_ajax_nopriv_wcfm_ajax_controller AJAX action that controls membership settings. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the membership registration form in a way that allows them to set the role for registration to that of any user including administrators. Once configured, the attacker can then register as an administrator. CVE record

What to do if you run WCFM Membership

If you run WCFM Membership, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.

If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
