CVE-2026-89047, 1 Oct 2026
The Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via URL in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires the victim to be on a mobile user-agent and to click the WeChat share icon, though once the dialog opens, script execution is automatic and requires no further user interaction. CVE record
CVE-2026-19719, 2 Sep 2026
The Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons WordPress plugin before 3.0.1 does not escape the post title before outputting it in an inline JavaScript event handler, allowing users with the Contributor role and above to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks which are triggered when a visitor interacts with the affected button. Exploitation requires the Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons WordPress plugin before 3.0.1 to be running a non-default icon display configuration. CVE record
CVE-2026-19723, 2 Sep 2026

CVE-2024-2118, 17 Apr 2024
The Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons WordPress plugin before 2.8.9 does not sanitise and escape some of its settings, which could allow high privilege users such as admin to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks even when the unfiltered_html capability is disallowed (for example in multisite setup) CVE record
CVE-2023-5602, 20 Oct 2023
The Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 2.8.5. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on several functions corresponding to AJAX actions. CVE record
CVE-2023-5070, 20 Oct 2023
The Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure in versions up to, and including, 2.8.5 via the sfsi_save_export function.
