- CVE-2025-12471, 6 Nov 2025
- The Hubbub Lite - Fast, free social sharing and follow buttons plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the 'dpsp_list_attention_search' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.36.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. CVE record
- CVE-2024-10145, 15 May 2025
- The Hubbub Lite WordPress plugin before 1.34.4 does not sanitise and escape some of its settings, which could allow high privilege users such as admin to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks even when the unfiltered_html capability is disallowed (for example in multisite setup). CVE record
- CVE-2024-2501, 9 Apr 2024
- The Hubbub Lite - Fast, Reliable Social Sharing Buttons plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 1.33.1 via deserialization of untrusted input via the 'dpsp_maybe_unserialize' function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor access and above, to inject a PHP Object. No POP chain is present in the vulnerable plugin. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code. CVE record
- CVE-2024-1526, 1 Apr 2024
- The Hubbub Lite WordPress plugin before 1.33.1 does not ensure that user have access to password protected post before displaying its content in a meta tag. CVE record
- CVE-2016-10736, 9 Jan 2019
- The "Social Pug - Easy Social Share Buttons" plugin before 1.2.6 for WordPress allows XSS via the wp-admin/admin.php?page=dpsp-toolkit dpsp_message_class parameter. CVE record
What to do if you run Hubbub Lite
If you run Hubbub Lite, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.
If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
