- CVE-2026-97227, 27 Sep 2026
- The NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster WordPress plugin before 4.4.8 does not perform capability or ownership checks on several of its AJAX actions, relying on a nonce alone, allowing users an administrator has granted access to its posting features to export the site's configured social account credentials, delete arbitrary posts and reset the NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster WordPress plugin before 4.4.8's configuration. CVE record
- CVE-2026-16570, 19 Aug 2026
- The NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster WordPress plugin before 4.4.8 does not escape some of the query-string parameters it reflects back on one of its admin pages, allowing attackers to perform Reflected Cross-Site Scripting attacks against logged-in users such as administrators who are tricked into opening a crafted link. CVE record
- CVE-2026-3228, 10 Mar 2026
- The NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the `[nxs_fbembed]` shortcode in all versions up to, and including, 4.4.6. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the `snapFB` post meta value. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. CVE record
- CVE-2020-36831, 16 Oct 2024
- The NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass due to missing capability checks on multiple user privilege/security functions provided in versions up to, and including 4.3.17. This makes it possible for low-privileged attackers, like subscribers, to perform restricted actions that would be otherwise locked to a administrative-level user. CVE record
- CVE-2024-1446, 22 May 2024
- The NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 4.4.3. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the nxssnap-reposter page. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary posts or pages via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. CVE record
- CVE-2024-1762, 22 May 2024
- The NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the HTTP_USER_AGENT header in all versions up to, and including, 4.4.3 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This requires the victim to select view "All Cron Events" in order for the injection to fire. CVE record
- CVE-2024-2088, 22 May 2024
- The NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure in all versions up to, and including, 4.4.3 via the 'nxs_getExpSettings' function. - CVE-2021-24975, 1 Feb 2022
- The NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster WordPress plugin before 4.3.24 does not sanitise and escape logged requests before outputting them in the related admin dashboard, leading to an Unauthenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting issue CVE record
- CVE-2021-25072, 1 Feb 2022
- The NextScripts: Social Networks Auto-Poster WordPress plugin before 4.3.25 does not have CSRF check in place when deleting items, allowing attacker to make a logged in admin delete arbitrary posts via a CSRF attack CVE record
What to do if you run NextScripts
If you run NextScripts, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.
If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
