- CVE-2026-39760, 6 Oct 2026
- Unauthenticated Cross Site Scripting (XSS) in Real 3D FlipBook <= 5.5 versions. CVE record
- CVE-2026-86842, 23 Sep 2026
- The Real3D Flipbook WordPress plugin before 5.4 does not perform capability checks on several of its authenticated flipbook management actions, allowing users with Author-level access and above to delete other users' flipbook content and overwrite administrator-only global settings, which can be leveraged to store JavaScript that executes in the context of any visitor or administrator viewing the site. CVE record
- CVE-2025-15696, 23 Sep 2026
- The Real3D Flipbook WordPress plugin before 5.4 does not sanitize or escape several flipbook editor fields before rendering them back in the admin editor, allowing users with the Author role and above to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute in the browser of any user who later opens the affected flipbook for editing, including administrators. CVE record
- CVE-2026-15098, 19 Sep 2026
- The Real3D Flipbook Lite plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'lightboxtext' shortcode attribute (and other unsanitized attributes handled by on_shortcode()) in versions up to, and including, 5.1.1. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the on_shortcode() and print_global_options() functions: shortcode attribute values are copied verbatim into $this->flipbook_options and then emitted via wp_json_encode() inside a <script type="application/json"> block without the JSON_HEX_TAG flag, allowing a literal </script> byte sequence in the attribute value to break out of the JSON script context. Because WordPress's shortcode_parse_atts() applies stripcslashes() to attribute values, an attacker can encode the breakout tag as \x3c/script\x3e\x3cscript\x3e…\x3c/script\x3e, which survives the wp_kses_post save-time filter applied to Contributor content (the escape bytes are safe text characters, not HTML tags) and is decoded to real angle brackets at render time. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user (typically an Editor or Administrator previewing/moderating the pending post) accesses an injected page. CVE record
- CVE-2024-9849, 16 Nov 2024
- The Real3D Flipbook Lite - 3D FlipBook, PDF Viewer, PDF Embedder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file type validation in the 'r3dfb_save_thumbnail_callback' function in all versions up to, and including, 4.8. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible. What to do if you run Real3D Flipbook
If you run Real3D Flipbook, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.
If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
