- CVE-2025-13861, 17 Dec 2025
- The HTML Forms - Simple WordPress Forms Plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Unauthenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting in all versions up to and including 1.6.0 due to insufficient sanitization of fabricated file upload field metadata before displaying it in the WordPress admin dashboard. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute whenever an administrator accesses the form submissions page. CVE record
- CVE-2025-12125, 8 Nov 2025
- The HTML Forms - Simple WordPress Forms Plugin plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via admin settings in all versions up to, and including, 1.5.5 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level permissions and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. CVE record
- CVE-2024-6412, 31 Jul 2024
- The HTML Forms WordPress plugin before 1.3.34 does not have CSRF checks in some places, which could allow attackers to make logged in users perform unwanted actions via CSRF attacks CVE record
- CVE-2024-6243, 22 Jul 2024
- The HTML Forms WordPress plugin before 1.3.33 does not sanitize and escape the form message inputs, allowing high-privilege users, such as administrators, to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks even when the unfiltered_html capability is disabled. CVE record
- CVE-2022-3689, 28 Nov 2022
- The HTML Forms WordPress plugin before 1.3.25 does not properly properly escape a parameter before using it in a SQL statement, leading to a SQL injection exploitable by high privilege users CVE record
What to do if you run HTML Forms
If you run HTML Forms, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.
If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
