CVE-2026-11366, 4 Aug 2026
The MonsterInsights WordPress plugin before 11.1.0 does not correctly validate the signature on one of its unauthenticated AJAX actions: when the MonsterInsights WordPress plugin before 11.1.0 is not connected to Google Analytics the HMAC signing key is empty, which lets unauthenticated attackers forge a valid signature and overwrite a MonsterInsights WordPress plugin before 11.1.0 configuration value, disrupting the MonsterInsights WordPress plugin before 11.1.0's server-side analytics in Manual GA4 mode. CVE record
CVE-2026-5371, 12 May 2026
The MonsterInsights - Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress (Website Stats Made Easy) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized access and modification of data due to a missing capability checks on the get_ads_access_token() and reset_experience() functions in all versions up to, and including, 10.1.2. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to retrieve live Google OAuth access tokens and reset Plugins's Google Ads integration. CVE record
CVE-2023-0081, 6 Feb 2023
The MonsterInsights WordPress plugin before 8.12.1 does not validate and escape some of its block options before outputting them back in a page/post where the block is embed, which could allow users with the contributor role and above to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks. CVE record
CVE-2022-3904, 16 Jan 2023
The MonsterInsights WordPress plugin before 8.9.1 does not sanitize or escape page titles in the top posts/pages section, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to inject arbitrary web scripts into the titles by spoofing requests to google analytics. CVE record
CVE-2014-9174, 2 Dec 2014
Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Google Analytics by Yoast (google-analytics-for-wordpress) plugin before 5.1.3 for WordPress allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the "Manually enter your UA code" (manual_ua_code_field) field in the General Settings. What to do if you run MonsterInsights

If you run MonsterInsights, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.

If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
