- CVE-2025-14445, 19 Feb 2026
- The Image Hotspot by DevVN plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'hotspot_content' custom field meta in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.9 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. - CVE-2024-7656, 24 Aug 2024
- The Image Hotspot by DevVN plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.5 via deserialization of untrusted input in the 'devvn_ihotspot_shortcode_func' function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code. CVE record
What to do if you run Image Hotspot by DevVN
If you run Image Hotspot by DevVN, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.

After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
