CVE-2026-104394, 6 Oct 2026
Unauthenticated Cross Site Scripting (XSS) in Charitable <= 1.8.12.3 versions. CVE record
CVE-2026-77189, 1 Sep 2026
The Charitable - Donation & Fundraising Platform (Donation Forms, Recurring Donations & Fundraising Campaigns) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to generic SQL Injection via 'order' Shortcode Attribute in all versions up to, and including, 1.8.12.1 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. The [charitable_donors] shortcode is accessible to Contributor-level users via draft or pending post previews, providing an authenticated but low-privileged entry point for exploitation. CVE record
CVE-2026-16650, 21 Aug 2026
The Charitable WordPress plugin before 1.8.12 does not verify the authenticity of incoming Square payment webhook events in a default configuration, allowing unauthenticated attackers to forge webhook notifications that mark donations as paid without any real payment. CVE record
CVE-2025-15675, 2 Aug 2026
The Charitable WordPress plugin before 1.8.5.3 does not sanitise and escape one of its campaign image text fields before outputting it in an HTML attribute, allowing users with a high-privilege campaign-management role to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks that execute on the front-end campaign page. CVE record
CVE-2026-10038, 6 Jun 2026
The Charitable - Donation Plugin for WordPress - Fundraising with Recurring Donations & More plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insecure Direct Object Reference / Authorization Bypass leading to Arbitrary Attachment Deletion in versions up to, and including, 1.8.11.1 via the profile avatar update flow. This is due to the save_avatar() function in Charitable_Profile_Form calling wp_delete_attachment() on an attachment ID read from the user's 'avatar' meta without validating that the attachment is owned by the user, combined with Charitable_Data_Processor::process_picture() returning the raw posted value when no file is uploaded, allowing the 'avatar' user meta to be poisoned with any attacker-chosen attachment ID. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to delete arbitrary attachments from the Media Library by performing a two-request chain (first poisoning the stored avatar meta value with a target attachment ID, then triggering deletion via a normal avatar upload). CVE record
CVE-2026-7619, 13 May 2026
The Charitable - Donation Plugin for WordPress - Fundraising with Recurring Donations & More plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to generic SQL Injection via the 's' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.8.10.4 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with access to the donation management admin area (requiring the edit_others_donations capability) and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. CVE record
CVE-2026-3177, 7 Apr 2026
The Charitable - Donation Plugin for WordPress - Fundraising with Recurring Donations & More plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity in versions up to, and including, 1.8.9.7. This is due to missing cryptographic verification of incoming Stripe webhook events. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to forge payment_intent.succeeded webhook payloads and mark pending donations as completed without a real payment. CVE record
CVE-2025-11893, 25 Oct 2025
The Charitable - Donation Plugin for WordPress - Fundraising with Recurring Donations & More plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection via the donation_ids parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.8.8.4 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. Exploitation of the vulnerability requires a paid donation. CVE record
CVE-2025-5275, 26 Jun 2025
The Charitable - Donation Plugin for WordPress - Fundraising with Recurring Donations & More plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the privacy settings fields in all versions up to, and including, 1.8.6.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level access, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. This issue was partially fixed in version 1.8.6.1 and fully fixed in version 1.8.6.2. CVE record
CVE-2024-10876, 9 Nov 2024
The Charitable - Donation Plugin for WordPress - Fundraising with Recurring Donations & More plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting due to the use of add_query_arg & remove_query_arg without appropriate escaping on the URL in all versions up to, and including, 1.8.3. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link. CVE record
CVE-2024-8791, 24 Sep 2024
The Donation Forms by Charitable - Donations Plugin & Fundraising Platform for WordPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in all versions up to, and including, 1.8.1.14. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying a user's identity when the ID parameter is supplied through the update_core_user() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to update the email address and password of arbitrary user accounts, including administrators, which can then be used to log in to those user accounts. CVE record
CVE-2023-4404, 23 Aug 2023
The Donation Forms by Charitable plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in versions up to, and including, 1.7.0.12 due to insufficient restriction on the 'update_core_user' function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to specify their user role by supplying the 'role' parameter during a registration. CVE record
CVE-2021-24531, 23 Aug 2021
The Charitable - Donation Plugin WordPress plugin before 1.6.51 is affected by an authenticated stored cross-site scripting vulnerability which was found in the add donation feature. CVE record
CVE-2018-21011, 9 Sep 2019
The charitable plugin before 1.5.14 for WordPress has unauthorized access to user and donation details. CVE record

What to do if you run Charitable

If you run Charitable, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.

If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
