- CVE-2025-11734, 18 Nov 2025
- The Broken Link Checker by AIOSEO - Easily Fix/Monitor Internal and External links plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized post modification due to missing authorization in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.5. This is due to the plugin registering a REST API endpoint that only checks for a broad capability (aioseo_blc_broken_links_page) that is granted to contributor level users, without verifying the user's permission to perform actions on the specific post being targeted. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor level access and above, to trash arbitrary posts via the DELETE /wp-json/aioseoBrokenLinkChecker/v1/post endpoint. CVE record
- CVE-2025-1264, 6 Apr 2025
- The Broken Link Checker by AIOSEO - Easily Fix/Monitor Internal and External links plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to SQL Injection via the 'orderBy' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.3 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. What to do if you run Broken Link Checker by AIOSEO
If you run Broken Link Checker by AIOSEO, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.
